Aerlore Coin & the Coin Merchants
How to earn Aerlore Coins (drops, bosses, dungeons, quests, achievements) and what Waforu and Ruoboru sell for them.

Aerlore Coins are a currency you earn by playing. Veterans: it's the old Red Chip, renamed and given new uses. Coins are bound to your character, so they can't be traded or sold to NPCs.
Earning coins
| Source | Coins |
|---|---|
| Monsters | Small chance from every kill: 4% from weak monsters, 6% from normal ones, 15% from captains (1-2 coins). Bosses, mid-bosses and giants drop 3-20. Higher-level monsters give more, and the chance is reduced at low levels (x0.6 for monster levels 1-29, x0.8 for 30-59) |
| World bosses (Clockworks, Meteonyker, Rangda) | 30-50 for everyone who did at least 1% of the damage |
| Dungeon bosses | 15 to 70 per clear depending on the dungeon. Full amount on your first clear of the day, half after that |
| Quests | 150+ quests give coins, roughly 1,200 or more for one character (the mid and late game quests, the milestone quests and the Coral Island chain) |
| Achievements & daily rewards | Honour Chests (10 each), login days 7, 14, 21 and 28, plus some daily tasks |
Coins from monsters are rolled for each party member in range, so partying doesn't cost you coins.
Level gap: you get full coins from monsters at your level, above it, or up to 4 levels below. At 5-7 levels below you get half, and at 8+ below you get none.
Weekly soft cap: after 500 coins from monster drops in a week (per account, resetting Monday 00:00 UTC), the chance of a coin drop falls to 25%. The cap only reduces the chance of a coin drop. It covers normal monsters, bosses, mid-bosses and giants. World bosses (Clockworks, Meteonyker, Rangda), dungeon clears, quests, achievements and daily rewards aren't capped.
Coins are also used for extra dungeon entries after your 2 free ones each day (10 / 20 / 40 / 80).
