Collecting & Catchers

Hunt Catchers in Madrigal with a Collector to farm the minerals you need for upgrades.

Catchers are Aerlore's collecting system. You knock one down, then drain its body with a Collector to get upgrade minerals.

The four Catchers

There are 3 of each in Madrigal. Each one is level 15 with 100,000 HP.

How to collect

  1. You need your 1st job (level 15+). Vagrants can't attack Catchers.
  2. Defeat a Catcher. You can only work on one Catcher at a time.
  3. Equip a Collector (two-handed) and use Collect on the body. Stay within about 3 m.
  4. The body shrinks as you drain it and disappears when it's empty.

The body stays for 3 minutes. For the first 40 seconds only the killer (or their party) can collect it.

Note: no NPC sells these four collectors at the moment.

Faster collecting

You can upgrade a collector at Boboko up to +5. It costs the same as a normal +0 to +5 upgrade (see Upgrading). A better collector doesn't give more minerals, but it drains a Catcher faster:

Collector levelTime to drain a Catcher
+0105 s
+190 s
+275 s
+360 s
+445 s
+530 s

Aerlore vs the Original: Aerlore has three Catcher spots per type. There's no separate "collector level" stat; only the collector's +level matters.

Collecting zones

The Original's battery collecting still works. Collins sells a different item that is also called Collector. It can't drain Catchers. It only works while you stand in one of the three collecting zones: Flaris South, Saint City East and Darkon 1, 2 North-West. Equip it and use Collect there. While you collect, it uses up its battery, and the zone gives pills, toothed wheels and gem pieces.
